As I mentioned in this post, I begged my friend Penny to design a tattoo for me. My criteria was....
1. It has to be sexy.
2. It has to be pretty.
3. It has to be colorful.
4. I like cherry blossoms.
So, I got my drawing in the mail the other day. And I LOVE IT. And I can't wait to get it! It's going on my left shoulder/upper back.
What do you think? Gorgeous, eh? Now the burning question of the day is...how big do I want to go? I'm thinking the whole upper left quadrant, on my shoulder blade/scapula area. You know what I mean? The drawing is about 9" tall, and I'm not inclined to reduce it much! It's too beautiful to make too much smaller, and besides I'm a big girl....there is nothing petite on me! I'm a firm believer in "Go big or go home." Have you seen my hair? LOL
The best part is that Penny is going with me to get it done when she gets back in town in June, so she can actually direct the tattoo artist on the color and shading as he's doing it. Sweet!!!!

So weird, I just got more ink work done this week and I had spring branches of cherry blossoms going through my ravens...pretty large area, took about 2 and half hours. Loves it! I'll get pics up in a few days. Congrats, nice design...you'll be thrilled and it makes you feel like a hundred bucks! It is always better to get a custom design by a friend, or yourself as I do and have a good tat artist who hand draws the design on you rather than using flash art.
P.S. Also weird. It is Autism Awareness Month and you choose puzzle pieces, which is our national/international symbol used for autism.
I have a tatty Julie.........and I'm soooooo jealous of the pretty one. Getting it on your boobie???

julie...I think Penny did a lovely design! Personally, I don't do tattoos; the way I look at it...I pushed 3 of 4 of my babies out of this body of mine with no meds, I've had it with self inflicted pain!

It's so pretty!! I wouldn't reduce it AT ALL. Bigger tattoos can contain more detail which makes them even more beautiful. For each of my tattoos I've gone bigger and bigger each time and every time I was glad I did.
Love the colors! Reds and yellows and oranges really pop nicely on the skin. The tattoo on my stomach/hip area is made up of those same colors and even years later its very vibrant!

I figure you've got all of the important points covered: It's one-of-a-kind (tell your tattoo artist to keep it that way), it's BEAUTIFUL, and you're not a teenager who will regret it later- plus if you're not getting it until summer you have plenty of time to decide on size and any other variations you might want.
I say if you like big, go for it!

I'm with airman Mom! DON'T hurt me..and you can't convince me it doesn't hurt, and besides...needles are not my favorite thing unless I am doing some embroidery work! :) But..you have fun..it's going to be lovely!! Your friend did a really lovely design. Very feminine!!!

My husband has an "om" symol on his right shoulder. Very cool. I'll probably take the ink plunge one of these days. What's holding me back? An old woman I saw with tattoos on her leg. It really creeped me out...

I don't have a problem but my husband said NO!

So, do you see the J for Julie at the bottom of the tat? Did you find the "wave" for the beach? And the smaller J for Jordan?? So much more than just cherry blossoms -- had to put some meaning to it.
