Bear with me for a couple of weeks, will ya?

I'm adding the comment verification word thingy here in an effort to get rid of all the spammy comments I'm getting.

I know, I know....

I *hate* the word verification crap too.

I have exited out of my own comments on other blogs because of it, so I know how annoying it is.

I promise it won't be for more than a couple of weeks, until the idiots stop spamming me.

At least I don't have to block my anonymi friends. I love you guys!

I'm getting annoyed which is never a good thing

I'm getting a lot of comments recently.

Just none I will publish.

They are all anonymous and either written in some ridiculous language or are advertisements for something or some other bullshit.

What's with the rash of these things all of a sudden?

I'm contemplating no longer allowing anonymous comments, at least for awhile until the spammers take me off their lists.

Unfortunately, I have a few people who do comment anonymously like my friends Jill, Cassie, "E", Cheri, and some others. I hate to prohibit you guys from leaving me comments but I don't know what else to do at this point.

I can ignore the spam but every time I reject one it pisses me off.

I know Chrissy's blog got hacked last week and I wonder if that's how?

Anyone got any ideas on how to fix this?

My followers come and go....

My followers are like my weight....the number fluctuates daily. Today it's 176. Yesterday it was 178. The day before it was 175.

Yet I average about 25 comments a day.

Doesn't it make you wonder what the other 150 people are doing with their hands while reading my blog? Make that 149...I *know* what Bagman is doing.

I need some sort of commenter lock down...you can come to my blog anytime you want but you can't leave until you comment.

Is Blognapping punishible by law?

Oh well, I'm just grateful for the 175-178 who care enough to follow me! I've never had such a big group to lead astray!

I need a HUGE favor from all of you!

First things first...what do you think of the new blog layout? I'm still playing around with what I want, but this will do for now...give me your feedback, ok? After all, you guys are the ones foolish enough voluntarily reading this every day!

Second, mosey over to Dana's blog today. She wrote an entire post about me! LOVE her!!! (And I've totally got her fooled into thinking I'm nice and sweet and helpful and all that. She doesn't realize I just need a place to vacation in Florida for free!)

So, onto the real reason for this post!

Tomorrow is my one year blog anniversary!

How exciting, right? It's been an entire year that I've been boring the shit out of you while deluding myself that I'm interesting entertaining you with my charming personality!

Now, I have a lot of readers every day, but I get an average of 25 comments at any given time.

I want you guys to break the bank for me.

My biggest record for comments in one day was around 80 back in January when we had the Vinnie Fiasco unfortunate discussion about relationships, so I want to kick that comment day's ass.

Are you with me?

So tomorrow, Friday, April 3rd, will all of you faithful readers leave me comments, and ask YOUR blog readers to do so as well?

Come on. I don't ask for much. I just want a 100 comment day.

Fine, I'll promise sexual favors if I have to. Whatever it takes.

Tomorrow is the Big Day. Don't forget me. It's my anniversary, for God's sake. I've never had a good anniversary...my first wedding anniversary my Dad died, and my second was eight days before the divorce was final. I deserve a good anniversary, dammit. (I am sooooo not above going for sympathy comments here!)

Put it on your To Do list. "Friday, April 3rd...leave Julie a comment to shut her up".

There, that was easy.

Thanks!!!

Please accept my apologies for being a bad blog friend

I am not able, for the most part, to access blogs during the day anymore. So I'm sure many of you realize that you don't get comments from me very often, basically on the weekends when I have a chance to actually catch up with everyone.

I want you all to know that I really appreciate the comments you leave me every day, and know that I will eventually get to your blogs on the weekend and get caught up with your lives as well....

I hope things get back to normal again soon but until then, I am thinking about you all, and thank you for continuing to follow me and comment even though I'm a bad blog friend right now.

Attention Commenters

I have made a change to my comment section which will not allow comments to be posted until I approve them.

The reason for this is my Anonymous commenter.

I have asked on more than one occasion for you to identify yourself. You have not respected my request. Yet you feel compelled to make comments as though we are friends, which we are not becauase I have no idea who you are...or call me "Jules" which is something my real friends call me, as they know me well enough to do so, but you don't. You even asked a blogging buddy of mine, "I wonder if we could get Julie to put a close up of her girls with the "I voted" sticker on her blog." The answer to that is a resounding NO, by the way.

I've had several people email me today, offended or annoyed at the tone of the comments you've made. I am not going to upset my readers friends because of somebody who doesn't have the balls to come out of the closet and say who he really is, and stop hiding behind a shadow of anonymity where you can say anything you want and not be held accountable.

I have no problem with my readers friends posting their thoughts and views about an election, or abortion, or a religious belief. What I do have a problem with is your willingness to throw your antagonistic comments out there while masking your identity.

So for now, I will no longer allow anonymous posts on my blog. I have a couple of friends (Cassie, Cheri, etc.) who post anonymously but put their names on the comment, and those I will let through. But if there's no name, it will be deleted. "B", I know you occasionally post one as well so if nothing else, sign it with your initial of your last name so I know it's you.

And Mr. Anonymous, in answer to your question, yes I did censor Vinnie's comment. And he knows why. It's my blog and I'm allowed.

Wow, my top commenters has really changed!

Um, Georgie? You've been pushed back to third place, Vinnie and Travel Girl have overtaken you!!!!!!!!!!!!!

And Lizzy is right on your heels.

I love competition. LOL

A bottle of wine and some answers to burning questions...

For all of us who are married, were married, wish you were married, or wish you weren't married, this is something to smile about the next time you see a bottle of wine:

Sally was driving home from one of her business trips in Northern Arizona when she saw an elderly Navajo woman walking on the side of the road.

As the trip was a long and quiet one , she stopped the car and asked the Navajo woman if she would like a ride.

With a silent nod of thanks, the woman got into the car.

Resuming the journey, Sally tried in vain to make a bit of small talk with the Navajo woman. The old woman just sat silently, looking intently at everything she saw, studying every little detail, until she noticed a brown bag on the seat next to Sally.

'What in bag?' asked the old woman.

Sally looked down at the brown bag and said, 'It's a bottle of wine. I got it for my husband.'

The Navajo woman was silent for another moment or two. Then speaking with the quiet wisdom of an elder, she said:

'Good trade.....'

OK Megryansmom and Travel Girl...you don't know what Sweet Tea is? Seriously? Am I to assume you've never been in the South?????? Sweet tea is just what is sounds like, iced tea made with tons of sugar! I never, ever put sugar in my tea (I'm a Splenda kind of gal) but when I travel in the southern states, I always have some. It's just SOOOOO good. And Cheri always makes sweet tea at her house so I still travel south (granted, only 50 miles!) to get it!

*********************************************

JillJill and Airmanmom, since you liked my jeans so much, I took a picture of the detail on them for you to swoon over! This is the left leg, and then there is a little bit of it going down the back of the leg from the pocket as well. I also have them in regular blue denim with brown embellishment! (When I find stuff I like, I buy it in every color!)

I wasn't kidding when I said we should consider a bloggers weekend in Vegas. Fly in Thursday, fly out Sunday. C'mon...who's in? We could do it early next year, like March'ish. Why, just in time for my birthday on March 22! What a coincidence!

*********************************************

To my anonymous commenters....PLEASE identify yourselves so I know who is talking to me. Fortunately I haven't gotten any nasty anonymous comments (and I know many of you other bloggers have so I feel pretty lucky so far) but every time I get one that doesn't leave me some idea of who it is, I have to go back to my analytics and figure out who was on at what time and narrow it down. So save me the trouble and just identify yourself somehow! Just use an initial or something. Even if you are a stranger to me, I'll at least know which comments are yours! Thanks...

*********************************************

It was a slow Bachelor weekend (no dysfunction to be found!) but there's a cute one on the periphery who seems pretty normal! Stay tuned, with any luck I'll be blogging about him in a very positive way soon!

Out of pocket today

I'm out of the office a huge chunk of today, so this is as much blog posting as I can do until maybe late this afternoon. Don't think I'm ignoring you if you don't get any comments from me...I'm just out of pocket for most of the day.

How to leave comments in one easy lesson.

Thanks to my blogging buddy Megryansmom , I am giving you explicit directions today on how to comment. (She told me I could steal it, would I be stupid enough to link to her blog if I didn't have permission??? She'd break my kneecaps!)

Unfortunately, I'm not smart enough to figure out how to get the entire post over here with pictures. So do me a favor, just go to HER blog, read HER post, leave HER a comment, and then come back here and leave me some as well!

I have just taken lazy to a whole new level.

Uh oh!!!

One more comment and Georgie beats out Danica for all time comment leader!!!!!

Stay tuned for the Girl Fight of the Century.

Can you see me in these bright lights?

I have power! Woohooooooooooooooo! It came back last night around 6pm. I was never so glad to see lights come on in my life. The idea of packing up and moving out for a few days did not appeal to me. You hear about looters and stuff at times like this, and while I don't consider my neighborhood to be questionable by any means (I'm a block away from the police station, for heaven's sake!) you just never know who might have gotten the bright idea that if the electric was out, my security system was probably out as well, and since our cars were gone, we probably weren't home. And poof, there goes my 52" hi def TV!

Plus, I was going to have to stay with my ex husband, in my ex house, in my ex bed. All of my family was in the same boat (no electricity) except my sister Patty, so she was being inundated with visitors as the rest of the family was functioning out of her house! So Jordan was going to go to a friend's, and I was going to go to Ex's with the dogs. Normally it really wouldn't have bothered me one way or another. He and I have this weird relationship now, not married anymore, not romantically involved, not really friends but not enemies. We're friendly, I guess. Of course we still talk to each other every day in some manner, either via text, IM chat, phone. But I see him maybe every couple of weeks, on a weekend we'll have dinner or take the boat out if it's nice or go to a movie.

But, right now...this week...it's not good for me to be around him. This Saturday would have been our 5th wedding anniversary, and it's the first time that September 20th has been on a Saturday again, so it's even a little harder for me. In past years, at least when 11:30am rolled around, I was busy at work and not thinking about it. This year will be different. I'm already planning on being very busy doing something that morning to forget what I was doing 5 years ago that same morning. The whole thing just still hurts.

So yeah, I'm feeling emotional right now. And staying at "our" house wasn't really a good idea. I think the Universe felt sorry for me and turned my power back on to keep me from potentially doing anything stupid in a weak vulnerable moment!

Who am I kidding. It has nothing to do with vulnerability. I just need laid. But going back around *that* block with him would not be a good plan.

At least I know that now, right?

Oh, and hey! I loved it yesterday that my comments basically can be summarized as follows:

1. Jill would like to join Deb and Georgie in some girl on girl action in a vat of chocolate pudding.

2. Amy is willing to slather baby oil on Deb and Georgie as well.

3. Vinnie is turned on by the idea and wants to watch.

I love my peeps.

Thanks, Dammit and Sweet!

Thanks to all my peeps for driving my comments up yesterday. I didn't even have to kiss any of you girls! I'd have done it..and you'd have liked it...I'm just sayin. I'll be returning the favor later today when I'm back in the office and can spend a little time stalking commenting back.

Dammit...the electricity is out at my house and is expected to be out for THREE MORE FREAKING DAYS. Seriously?????? Yes, we had 75mph winds, yes there are trees down everywhere, yes there were white sparks coming off the power lines behind my garage last night. But really, four days of no power?????? Thanks, Ike.

Sweet...catfight between Georgie and Deb for most comments. I love girl on girl action.

Attention All Commenters

You will notice that I added a widget that I stole from my separated at birth wild ass kindred spirit Deb, that shows who my top commenters are!

Look on the right about halfway down the blog. Your name better frickin be there.

Danica rocks, she's my #1! I heart her bunches.

I dare any of you to try and outcomment her.
