I'm too old for this.

I am beat.

I've been helping with two whole house installs since last Thursday, and believe me when I tell you, I'm too damn old to work 16 hour days.

Amazingly though, my back held out and I can still walk upright. Go figure.

Our Parade of Homes house is incredible. I'm so proud of my boss and the design work he did there. I will post pictures after it opens this weekend.

Mom is getting pretty quiet now, doesn't talk a whole lot, although she has "up" days but they seem to be winding down. A month or two ago she weighed 160 lbs, and she's down to 135. Pretty much all she does is sleep, gets up for meals and has a few bites and then goes right back down. She does try to get up for bingo once a week (she was commonly referred to as Bingo Betty as I was growing up thanks to her major gambling habit of 7 days a week bingo. So naturally that inclination will be the last thing to go!) but other than that, she's just in bed.

What's new with you?

Well, it's back to work after 10 days off....

I have to say, I've enjoyed my vacation. I was already taking the week between Christmas and New Year's off anyway because I had time from the year that I hadn't used up, but then my boss decided to close down the office and let us all have the time off.

I almost got used to sleeping in. I'm the kind of girl who is up at 7am even when I don't have to be. So I've gotten used to waking up, looking at the clock and thinking "I don't have to get up!" and falling back asleep! I slept in til 10am today, which is usually unheard of for me.

But tomorrow it's back to being up at 7:30. Sigh. Oh well.

I'm just thankful to have a job to go to!!!!

My holidays were good, pretty quiet but I like it that way. Did all the family stuff over Christmas, then celebrated Jordan's birthday two days later (and bought myself this), and didn't do a damn thing for New Year's Eve other than watch The Hangover (finally...am I the last person in America to see it? Thought it was "okay", expected to be laughing my ass off throughout the movie and instead just chuckled a few times). New Year's Day brought my beloved Buckeyes a Rose Bowl victory, and today my excitement was waking up to frozen cold water pipes, and spending the day insulating them in an effort to prevent that from happening again!

It's been a good holiday season, but I'm glad it's over and a new year has begun. 2009 was pretty good for me, and I have every confidence that 2010 is going to be even better. I'm recommitted to my diet as of tomorrow morning (I let myself slack off during the holidays....not going crazy but not actually counting points either) and my first goal for this year is to lose the remaining 40 lbs that I didn't lose last year. I'm also looking in to ways to market my real estate business so I can close a lot more deals this year and pay off my bills. I'm ready to do some travelling! And I can't do that until the debt from my condo fiasco of three years ago gets paid off.

What are your goals for 2010? Share some of them with me....

Thousand Words Thursday

A Lot Of Wine + Techno Music at the Showhouse Party = Dance Fever.

Somehow, it's so much more embarrassing sober.

For your viewing pleasure....

Some scenes from Saturday.

First, I whacked my hair off. Rumor has it I look younger with shorter hair. So 6" gone should equal at least 6 years right? I'm 42 now.

Then it was Prom Night.

Here's my boy and his girl. Aren't they the Cutest Couple Ever? Her dress was so gorgeous, pictures don't do it justice.

Awwwww. I think they like each other.

Me, Steph, Jordan and Greg (Jordan's Dad)

Everybody thinks Jordan looks just like his Dad. I think there is a definite resemblence but come on, he's got at least a little of me in him too right?

Jordan and his brother Wes. Wes looks more like his mom now, I think.

Oh wait, there's the family resemblence. Guess they all do look alike!

Last night was the opening of Decorator's Showhouse. It's a museum fundraising event that the Women's Board puts on every two years and interior designers in our city each do a room. My boss, unconventional as he is, chooses to take raw space and transform it, rather than work with the confines of an existing room. So this was the mechanical room in the basement. It's now called The Vault and it's a wine cellar!

And just so you know I really did need the handcuffs for this, here's pictures to prove it! So no, I do not have some poor man cuffed to my bed. (I wish!) Thank you again to my friend Lt. B. and his lovely wife for letting me borrow their sex toy his work tools.

By the way, I've been asked *why* handcuffs in a wine cellar? This room is called The Vault, and the idea for it came when my boss, and his two friends who are an architect and a builder, sat down drinking a bottle of wine aptly named The Prisoner. So the handcuffs are a nod to the wine that started the whole concept for the wine cellar.

The Showhouse preview party was last night, and after drinking a lot of wine (hey, we made the wine room, you gotta work it!) we ventured out for a late dinner, and I didn't get home until 2am. Late night for this 48 42 year old.

I feel a laaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaazy Sunday coming on.

Pain in the neck.

Yep, I've got one.

I've either been sleeping weird for several weeks now, or it's just my usual "compensating for my back hurting by walking/standing/sitting funny", but I've got the stiffest, sorest neck in town. I went to the chiropractor today and he could barely get it to adjust. My chiropractor knows me too well...

So have you been doing that "wild sex with hair pulling" thing again??

Um. No. Dammit. Just crack me and stop talking about the good old days. At this point I haven't had sex in so long I forget who gets tied up.

(For the record, he used to treat my ex as well, and it was a running joke when we'd both have to go in to see him that it was a result of bedroom gymnastics!)

I know I sit weird at work. My keyboard is too far away (I type with my arms extended), my eyes look down towards my monitor, and I know I slump in my chair. I need to rearrange things on my desk to make it more ergonomic friendly. And I really need my neck muscles to loosen up. I feel like someone has their hands wrapped around my throat right now. (And no, Dr. Wade, that's not a "wild sex with choking" thing either!)

And then I drive with my right arm resting on the little box storage thing between the seats, and my left hand on top of the wheel, while I'm leaning towards the right. Evidently I think I'm cool. Or pimp. If I had some rap blaring from the radio it would complete my look. (Go ahead, laugh at the visual. I am.)

And of course, I sleep in odd positions these days. It's funny, I slept alone basically for 40 years before I met my ex-husband, (ok well, let's just say I didn't have a lot of long term bed mates...but there were a few spending the night here and there! LOL!) and it took me a little while to get adjusted to having a partner in bed with me every single night. Then after our divorce, it took me a long time to readjust to sleeping alone again after 4 years. (2 married, 2 dating) You would think it would have been pretty easy to fall back into sleeping by myself, but it really wasn't. Sometimes it still isn't. Sometimes I still prop a pillow behind my back when I'm laying on my side because it feels like he's curled up behind me. (Wow, that just sounded really pathetic but I'm leaving in there anyway because it's the truth!) Regardless, a lot of times I have to put a pillow between my knees, or if I happen to be laying on my back (which I don't often do not only because it hurts, but because I snore and keep myself awake!) I put one under my knees, which somehow ends up making my neck hurt.

And I wonder why I can't sit comfortably for a 2 hour movie at the theater anymore? Christ, if anything more starts to hurt, I'm going to end up being held together with duct tape and spackle.

In other news...

Hell, who am I kidding? I haven't got any other news. My life is all glamour, isn't it?

Blah. That's it. All I have to say.

I'm too freaking busy at work to blog. Clearly, that needs to change.

Back in a bit.

Oh, getting nails back on at 5pm! Woohoo! Of course I probably won't be able to type for awhile now that I've gotten used to not having them!!!!

Taxes suck.

I'm just sayin.

I realize we all have to pay them but it doesn't make me like them any better.

I've got nothing interesting to say today, frankly. I've got too much work to do, and not enough motivation to get it done. I'm hungry and bitchy and sleepy and cranky and pissy and annoyed and irritated. Evidently I'm my own Seven Dwarfs.

Last night I took my mother-in-law to a little event at the cancer clinic where they gave her a bunch of make-up and taught her how to draw eyebrows on again and stuff like that. She tried on some wigs and various hats. It was a really sweet time, and I'm glad I got to share it with her.

Oh, and I'm getting my nails put back on. This is bullshit. My hands look like hell and I can't pick anything up, can't open a freaking can of pop, can't scratch an itch, can't run conditioner through my hair without nails to separate the strands, and my fingertips hurt from 18 years of not being exposed and now suddenly being tortured by typing on a keyboard! I want my french manicure back.

Oh, and....

I have a lot of weird dreams, and most of the time I remember them and can analyze them to the point of knowing why I would dream a particular thing.

However, last night I dreamed I was married to Danny Bonaduce.

No clue why I would dream that. I didn't see him on TV or anything last night before I went to bed. I don't have any deep seeded attraction to red haired, steriod fueled raging men with anger management issues and bad skin. And I was far more into David Cassidy during the Partridge Family years.

Yet, there was I was, Mrs. B last night. Fortunately I woke up before we consummated the marriage. LOL

Weird.

By the way, my boss just signed us all up for the Race for the Cure. I won't be racing, but I'll be walking my way towards the finish line! It's on May 17th and I'll be walking in my mother-in-law Jennie's honor. As some of you know she's dealing with four different types of cancer right now, one of them being breast.

It's a 3 mile walk. I just hope my back holds out!

Beautiful day in Ohio

Sunny and warm, gotta love it.

Unfortunately I spent a good chunk of it indoors, in the basement of my boss' parent's house installing a computer.

Sigh.

Did go get Jordan's tux ordered for the prom, and we went to Best Buy for bluetooth headsets for our iPhones.

And that's about how exciting my day has been.

Calm down, people. You'll burst a blood vessel. LOL
