Arkansas voters approved a measure banning unmarried couples from serving as adoptive or foster parents. Supporters made clear that gays and lesbians were their main target.
Wow. So in order to discriminate against gay and lesbian people, they'll just make sure that nobody can adopt or foster children who need parents. Let's make innocent children suffer rather than allow loving, caring people (regardless of sexual orientation) to raise them.
And voters actually approved this. You've got to be kidding me.
We have far bigger things to fear in this country than who our new President is, clearly.

Do you remember what Obama's comment was when he was asked about abortion? I think that he said it was above his pay grade. Can't wait to hear more from this guy now that he is going to be president. WTF does it matter? What are we, stuck in the 50s (sorry, I guess those from AR probably are still in the Dust Bowl era)? That's like telling a couple who doesn't have the same colored skin that they can't adopt because their ancestors were once at war or because their religious preferences contradicted one another!
What happened to teaching kids about loving one another. Why the qualifier?

Being a foster for over 14 years, I will tell you that it is a crying shame. Most of the married couples we fostered with were wonderful, but there were some that , dear Lord, did it for the measley reimbursement check. I agree it is wrong!!!!!
It's sad that there is still so much fear and hate in our country.

I cannot believe it. Horrible. And Prop 8, too?? Ugh. You think we're overcoming discrimination when a black man is elected to the president, but then in the same election this shit happens. RI-GOD-DAMN-DICULOUS.
So sad. Here in Florida, gays can foster kids but are not allowed to adopt them. PLEASE EXPLAIN THAT ONE.
