I'm usually pretty chatty, and can talk most people's ears off when necessary! However, this past few days I've really had little to nothing to say.
I wasn't feeling good (and still aren't) over the weekend, so that can account for some of it.
I'm not a big holiday person anymore since my divorce, so I think there's a bit of the blues starting to develop.
I'm definitely not feeling funny. And by funny I mean, haha...not strange.
So it's hard to come up with something to post that entertains the masses and makes me feel like I'm contributing something to the blogging world!
I really don't think any of you want to be bored with my "Adventures with a Neti Pot" story of this weekend (in case you are wondering what that is, it's the little invention that holds salt water and you pour it in your nose to flush your sinuses and clean out the bacteria. It can feel a little like drowning in the ocean at first.) Although seeing my son do it was far more entertaining as he'd never tried it before, and I found it highly amusing to watching him cough and sputter from it. I'm a bad mom like that.
If you live here in Columbus, you probably heard the story this weekend of the two guys arrested for running a prostitution ring, and how it started on Craig's List and developed into some sort of raffle for an hour with a hooker, and how they arranged parties on an internet Chat Board. Well, imagine my surprise to find out that one of the guys is my ex's very good friend!!!! I've known him for years now, he is a Realtor as well as being a very rich man, (in fact he listed my condo for me before I became a Realtor!) and he and my ex went to high school together and have been very good friends for years.
Here's the link to the first news story I saw on Saturday. When I saw the news at 11pm, they had more information than they did in this first report, and they said the police were looking for a 3rd suspect in this, who was known on the Chat Board as "Toby". At that point, I called my ex and said "Please tell me this is not you and you are not involved in this situation in any way". (Some of you get the association with my ex and that name, and some of you don't. Just suffice it to say, the mere mention of that particular name makes my blood boil, so for the rest of you, it shouldn't be hard to figure it out!) He assures me he has nothing to do with it, as he would not get involved in criminal activity of any sort regardless of what it is. Knowing him as I do, I tend to agree. While he evidently has no problem with moral issues as we know, criminal ones are a whole other story! haha
So yeah, that was quite interesting. I hate to see our friend in this situation but if you are stupid enough to break the law like that, then I guess you shouldn't do the crime if you can't do the time. I just thought he was smarter than that, but I think maybe he figures people with money are above the law (look at OJ!) and I'm afraid this one is going to ruin his reputation AND cost him a small fortune.
Oh well.
(Gee, for somebody with writer's block, this is turning into an awfully long post!)
So on Thanksgiving, I spent it with my family, and my son brought his girlfriend (they are offically dating now, FYI. Evidently all this time they've just been friends but now they're BF/GF), and we had a nice time. My sister, however, got a bit tipsy, and had us all cracking up. (Note, I had a few glasses of wine myself so I'm equally guilty!) She and I got the giggles several times leading up to dinner, and then when she referred to the dark meat of the turkey as "chocolate" ("I only like white meat, not chocolate") we started laughing, then snorting laughter, then bent-over-holding-our-stomachs laughing, and finally wiping tears away as the rest of the family sat there watching us and having NO idea what we were laughing about. Sigh...it was fun. You should have seen us go with my other sister to take my mom back to the nursing home. At that point we were becoming obnoxious with our giggling, and clearly my older sister was not amused. She tried to leave us there.
So, tell me your funny Thanksgiving story.

I ate turkey.
Doesn't get any funnier than that.
LOL
Wish I had something to contribute, but I'm drawin' a blank, too. Oh, and the whole Toby thing had me for a second there, too....
Geez if you can write all that and be blocked I'll never be a writer, lol.
julie... Feel better soon! I must agree, you write well with a block!
Here's my adventure...it's a Black Friday story-my daughters and I left the house at 1am (outlets opened at midnite)it is supposed to be a 15 minute ride, took 50 minutes! So here we are on I-70(interstate) on an overpass, at a complete stop...so I jump out of the car to take pictures of the traffic madness...only to have my daughter drive away with door open. I had to jog to catch up with the car...perhaps you had to be there? Is this called parent-abuse?
~AirmanMom returning to her blog...
I like chocolate turkey too. LOL
Hope you're feeling better after shoving a spout up your nose.(Never seen it before but the visuals running through my head...)
My Thanksgiving was pretty good! Many humorous moments but one that especially comes to mind was when Teen Boo's boyfriend was given the honor of transferring the turkey to the platter and Ol Tom was decapitated from the waist down. The only thing that left the roaster was the breast. I cracked up while my daughters just looked at me like I had lost my mind.
Oh well...I guess you had to be there...
Writer's block, huh???? I don't think so! Thanks for the great post..wish I could write like that when I am not feeling "it"!
Love you!
I like chocolate men! HA I call LW milk chocolate all of the time! HA
No funny story for me.
I watched movies all day and ate pizza.
I cried. Then I drank lots of wine and just got sleepy. I suck. But I was cracking up at you and your sister. That is exactly what Amy and I do. I miss her like crazy.
