Maggie didn't get her own cakes until five years ago, when my Dad died. I'm pretty sure even now, she misses having two names on her cake.
My dad would have been 86 today. I know he and Linda are in heaven, having a drink and a smoke, and enjoying a beautiful day....Daddy, go find Cheri's Mom...I'm sure she baked you a cake. And make sure Danica's Mom is there too...that way I know you are surrounded by beautiful women on your birthday!
While I can't write on this one, it still says "Happy Birthday, Maggie and Pappy" in my heart.
I love and miss you, Daddy. And Mags, I hope this is a wonderful birthday for you. I love you dearly, and I am so proud of the woman you've become. I know Linda watches over you every day, and she is beaming with pride too.

Beautiful post. I'm sure your dad is looking down on you today, beaming as well. It is pretty funny that he got all those girl cakes. Happy birthday to him.
A heartwarming post... I was just reminiscing about my dad at Vodka Mom's blog... he was only 67 when he died of a massive stroke in '06, and we're talking a fit and healthy guy here, not some couch potato. So it was the biggest shock to all of us. It still is. I miss him so much!
Hugs to you girly ~ have a sweet Sunday.
I bet he looked forward to those cakes every year. Happy Birthday, Maggie and Pappy!
Awww...how sweet. Many wishes to you and your family.
What a beautiful tribute.
Well put.
I'm so glad you posted about your Dad's birthday. My own Dad is up there, too and even though today is NOT his birthday, he'd love all the beautiful women around :) Yes, I miss him every day, too. Happy Birthday to your Dad.
What a beautiful way to remember a loved one....
You just made me cry. I had a "I miss my mom day today".
Happy birthday Maggie and Pappy!
Happy Birthday Maggie and to your Dad.
How lovely! That is just the cutest thing I have ever head of - to share a cake that way. I know he knows that you are thinking of him right at this moment and all of us too.
Beautiful post!!
Love reading your post, and the conincidence is I am 48 and was divorced last year at 47. But my son is only 11, a long way to go.
Cheers and have a great start in your new life.
