Attention must be paid, because on this day 19 years ago....

On December 27, 1990 I looked like this:

And then a year later "we" looked like this:

And then we got a couple years older...

And older...

And his hair got darker and mine got more red...

And then suddenly he was a teenager...

And tried to tune me out....

And he turned 17 but still let me feed him regularly...

That year I had to drive him home from his sister's wedding after he celebrated a little tooooooo much...

He was really happy with me though, when I got us out of Mexico after getting lost in a Mexighetto in a rental car with no navigation, cell phone service or passports (only I can "accidentally" drive over the border of a foreign country). Six hours in the border line having to pee like crazy and finally finding out we're not going to be detained makes for a happy mother and child...

Then he felt the need to turn 18 and graduate...

And lose a shit ton of weight...

But he's always going to be my little boy...just like I'm still my mom's baby...

So today I wish my little bundle of joy, Jordan Nicholas, a very, very happy 19th birthday. You are the light of my life, my greatest joy, and I have loved every minute of the past nineteen years (and even that 42 weeks I was pregnant!). You have given me more happiness than any parent could hope for, and I can't wait to see the rest of your life unfold and cheer the amazing things that come your way.

I love you, my little bug!!!!!

We will always be our mummy and daddy's little no matter what age. Time flies, we just have to enjoy our children. Bless you both. :)

What a wonderful journey of pictures that you two have taken. Was your hair a natural red and then Jordan's naturally turned darker?

You both look so good! You look like you could be Jordan's sister instead of his mom.

Happy Birthday to Jordan and many, many more.

Hi, Julie girl...this is such a sweet post. As a mom, I know that kind of love that consumes us and we'd die in an instant for them, no questions asked. O, and how proud they can make us!! I've had my heart swell so big, i just knew I was fixin' to have a heart attack.! :) just the mother in us, tho.
I love all your photos...so cute.

They will always be our little boys. I have to keep reminding myself that when my 21 year old has the nerve to make decisions without consulting me :)

Happy Birthday to my surrogate son -- I must say you have been a breeze to raise to this age! I let your mom do the real work -- that worked out well for me and you wouldn't have liked Camp Steward anyway. We ALL have gotten older now, haven't we?? Can't wait to see what adventures you have in the next 19!

Congratulations, Jules, you did a great job!

Does your son see how lucky he is?
My #2 son actaully got me something good this Christmas... all these years of training finally paid off...he'll be making more $$ than me pretty soon and he treats his girlfriend with respect.
Oh what joy when they grow up good.

Hey! Did you read the Host by Stephanie Meyer? I noticed it mentioned on your side bar. I have been thinking of buying it but have been unsure.

Awwe - so sweet :). My little boy just turned 6 and I'm already freaking out about how quickly the time is going. I'm glad I realized it early on, so I can consciously savor each moment.
